How to download jedi academy mod

In single-player mode, the player takes control of the character Jaden Korr, a student at the Jedi Academy under the tutelage of Kyle Katarn. The player must complete various missions assigned to them by Katarn and Luke Skywalker. There is also a multiplayer mode that allows players to play against other people over the internet or via a LAN. On their way to the Academy, the students' shuttle is shot down by an unknown enemy. As Jaden and Rosh make their way to the Academy on foot, they encounter stormtroopers and a Dark Jedi, whom Jaden defeats.

Jaden then sees a woman using a staff to drain energy from the Jedi Temple, but he is detected and knocked unconscious by the beam. Jaden and Rosh become apprenticed to Kyle; however, in their first training session, Rosh's over-competitiveness endangers Jaden.

Jaden is then dispatched on various peace-keeping missions across the galaxy. After completing several missions Jaden returns to the temple and overhears Rosh talking to another student, saying that he feels like the Jedi masters are trying to hold them back.

Luke tells the assembled students that the Dark Jedi who attacked the Temple are members of a Sith cult called the Disciples of Ragnos. A member of the cult, a Twi'lek named Alora Grey DeLisle , was able to infiltrate the Academy during the attack and stole Luke's journal. This allowed the cult to find numerous places strong with the Force and drain the energy there.

The students are sent out to investigate the locations in Luke's journal. Jaden defeats her, and she flees. Returning to the Academy, Jaden finds that Rosh did not return from his mission to Byss.

After completing several more missions, Jaden accompanies Kyle in an investigation of Darth Vader's fortress on Vjun. There, Jaden discovers that Rosh has joined the Disciples of Ragnos, having fallen to the dark side to avoid being killed. At this point, the leader of the cult, who is revealed to be Tavion Axmis Kath Soucie arrives.

She was the former apprentice of Kyle's nemesis Desann from Jedi Outcast. Tavion has recovered the «Scepter of Ragnos», which has the power to drain and release Force energy.

Tavion disables Jaden and Kyle, causing the room to cave-in as she escapes with Rosh. Kyle and Jaden narrowly escape and return to the Academy.

Jaden is promoted to Jedi Knight, and constructs a new lightsaber. Luke comes to the conclusion that Tavion plans to restore the Sith to power by using the stolen Force energy to resurrect the ancient Sith Lord, Marka Ragnos. The third set of powers -- which includes pull, push, speed, throw, sense, and jump -- upgrade on their own.

Sense is a Force power new to the Jedi Knight series. Once activated, it helps Jaden locate items that can be interacted with as well as show the location and health of non-player characters NPCs.

Sense would have been much more useful in Jedi Outcast since it included a number of frustrating puzzles. Jedi Academy doesn't feature too many puzzles, and with the help of Force sense it doesn't take long to solve the ones that do exist.

There is a short training course early in the game to get players familiar with the Force powers but offers no real Jedi training. This level could have been greatly enhanced if players were able to receive better training from Kyle, such as entering the cave on Dagobah that Luke Skywalker had to in The Empire Strikes Back. Unfortunately, without giving too much away, the overall storyline actually makes that impossible.

And for that matter, where is Luke Skywalker? He gives orders at the academy throughout the entire game, but we never get to see him show off his Jedi abilities. A great moment in Jedi Outcast was when Luke fought side-by-side with you. Though Kyle does go on some missions with Jaden, he isn't very useful and it isn't as much fun seeing the player you controlled in previous games as it is to see an iconic hero from the movies.

Jedi Academy receives a passing grade mainly because it's a lot of fun to wield the lightsaber and use the host of Force powers.

Yet at the same time, the developers should stay after class for delivering a game that is too short, features too much that we've seen before, and ends with a disappointing final battle. Graphics: The game looks very much like Jedi Outcast which is a good thing. Although that game is a year and a half old, the graphics still look fine and the game runs at a smooth frame rate. Some of the levels aren't that interesting but that has more to do with the level design.

Weapons effects are very good too. Voice acting is fine but it would have been better if Jaden's voice was more accurate to the species that the user is playing as. Enjoyment: Lightsabers and Force powers are never dull.

Lightsaber battles are the best part while pushing around stormtroopers while using Jedi mind tricks on them is fun too. However, the game is very short and easy on the normal difficulty setting. There is so much more that could have been added without disrupting the main plot.

Replay Value: The game is only ten hours in length but there are multiplayer modes. Multiplayer games vary greatly depending on the server settings that can allow or disallow Force powers as well as set the levels on Force powers. Two new modes include Power Duel, where one player enters into combat against two players in a lightsaber battle, and Siege. Siege is unique in that each player must select a character class that limits what weapons and Force powers they may use.

The Clone Wars Lightsabers 4. Not sure which mods to try out? Whereas Basic serves as an unofficial patch to fix bugs and increase the capacity for other modders to experiment in baseJKA, OJP: Enhanced breaks new ground with major overhauls to the Jedi Knight gameplay.

A compatable videocard and the JK Unofficial Patch are required. Enhanced saber realism: When you use your light saber, it can withstand lightning strikes better and strike harder with less force.

The light of the saber is changed to a better hue in the light stream. Jedi dojo: This modification allows you to fight in the Jedi temple's dojo setting with any character from the game. Think of this as pay back time for all the characters that made your mission difficult with no strings attached. You'll need to burn an image of the music and have it in your CD drive when you play if you want that music back!
